<reviewbody>the creators of this film think that by taking a snapshot of various cultures and adding text they can decide represent 'beauty' of cultures. Although feet binding etc and practices of beauty are cultural, this film is completely hegmonic attitude that is based on aesthetic interpretation of cultural beauty, without even understanding the underpinnings that determine these trends,--- perhaps subordination and colonization.
also these isolated beauty examples are ALSO shared by men of those cultures the film maker neglects to mention.
This really gives a false understanding of what the creators grasp on feminist issues really are.
"PEOPLE IN AFRICA" doo this...
wow
AFRICA is a continent people in africa don't all do the same things, incase you weren't sure.
interseting how the film focuses on NON WESTERN practices mostly. Also it capsulated in history of women practicing 'beauty' but does not acknowledge these defintions in contemporary western cultures, of plastic surgeries and sensoring behavior practices.
overall i hesitate to give 1 star, but nice national geographical photos</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Don't judge me because of my piercings and tattoos, but people do it all the time. I like this video because it shows that beautiful is not the same for all, you can tell me what you think beauty is but don't expect me to find it beautiful.</reviewbody>
